Account Information

This is the username and password that is used for accessing the DataMotion Direct account.

Address Book

This is where you will find all of your saved contacts. You can access the DataMotion Healthcare Provider Directory (HPD), import addresses from HPD, manage your existing contacts, and add addresses to messages.

Compose

This is how you will generate a new Direct Message. By clicking on the Compose link, a new message will open. You can enter the recipient’s Direct Address in the To: field, and you can add Cc’d/Bcc’d recipients by clicking the Show Cc and Show Bcc link. Enter the subject of the email in the Subject: field. You can add attachments to the message by clicking the Browse button. In the Message: field, enter the body of your message. You can use the toolbar above the Message window to format your message. Once your message is ready, click the Send Secure button which is located right above the To: field.

Direct Messaging Portal

This web portal is where your Direct Secure Messages can be found. The portal can be accessed by using a web browser, and visiting https://ssl.dmhisp.com. From here you can view your messages, compose new messages, and manage your account and preferences.

E-Mail Receipts

These are general notifications sent via e-mail informing the sender of a message that the recipient has opened or read a message or attachment.

Inbox

The Inbox is where all Direct Secure Messages that have been sent to you are located. From the Inbox, you can read and manage your messages. If you would like to download a local copy of a specific message to PDF file, click on the subject line link of the message you would like to download and then Click on the link that says Download Message. To Forward, Reply To Sender or Reply To All, please click the corresponding links.

Member Center

This is where all of the preferences for a particular Direct user are stored. The Member Center is located within your Direct Messaging Portal. You have the ability to add or remove users, run reports, etc.

Message Disposition Notification

A Message Disposition Notification, or MDN, is a notification message that indicates the disposition, or status, of a Direct Secure Message. Possible MDNs can be positive (successful delivery), negative (failed delivery), or processed (successful delivery by the sending HISP, but unconfirmed receipt by the recipient HISP).

Message Expiration

This is the length of time a sent message is available before it expires. Once it has reached the expiration date the message is deleted. Users are able to change the length of time before the message expires, it ranges from 1 day to 2 years.

Track Sent

The Track Sent link allows you to view and manage all Direct Secure Messages that have been sent. By clicking the Subject link of the message, you can set some advanced options such as setting the expiration of the message or password protecting it by clicking the Advanced Options link. You can also edit the message and resend it as a new message by clicking the Edit as New Message link, or you can download the message to PDF by clicking Download Message.
